Covid-19 Information

The New Zealand Needle Exchange Programme is an essential service and will continue to operate at all levels under New Zealand's Covid 19 Protection Framework (traffic light system). A "My Vaccine Pass" is NOT required when visiting NZNEP outlets.

Some NZNEP outlets may have reduced hours or have to close if staff have to isolate or due to circumstances outside our control. To view opening hours for needle exchange outlets visit our website outlet directory.

The NZ Government has made it mandatory for masks to be worn when visiting a business at Traffic Light levels red and orange, this applies when visiting a needle exchange outlet. There will be precautions in place to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, please follow any directions given by staff. Please sign in for contact tracing purposes using the NZ Covid Tracer App or manual contact tracing option.

If you need equipment but are sick or self-isolating we can courier equipment to you, call your local NZNEP outlet or you can order equipment from our online shop.
